well everyone has there own preference on what battery is best, but I like turnigy nano-tech lipo batteries from hobbyking.com because they work great and they are cheap and I also like venom because they have good customer service if you ever have an issue with them. just use the search bar and you will find a lot of info on batteries!

What esc you use will determine what battery you can use as far as how much power..2s 3s 4s etc... Some battery companies rape you price wise because they are a popular name brand and use that to their advantage as with most of RC products. GensAce batteries have served me well in Racing and now the trail truck scene..Priced really well compared to an equal by a top name brand. Just depends on what you want really. There is no answer to the best battery question. More Mah will give you more run time Correct fitting to your vehicle is important..not all batteries fit the same vehicle properly hardcase or soft case packs as choices. Hard wired or banana plugs another option I do however recommend a hard case that uses banana plugs. What esc and motor are you going to use?..what size tires?...need more info for us to recommend something and you make a decision. Last edited by 6sharky9; 11-23-2013 at 08:30 PM. |

Ok...so you will be running a brushed motor...You have 2 maybe 3 options. A 2s will give you a lot of power over a NIMH type battery. A 2s will save you from investing a ton of money in the drive train unless you don't mind that in which case you can go to a 3s battery for even more power..Id like to say you can go 4s but I don't know the battery limit on that ESC..so maybe you can maybe you cant..but either way you need to upgrade everything and I mean everything in your drivetrain. Axles, trans gears and internals, driveshafts, spur and pinion gear to a 32 pitch..the list goes on and on...if you want to use your stock parts and upgrade a few parts to feel good if wanted and run reliable then go with a 2s battery. I run a 2s and with 4000mah I got about an hour of run time with it. A 3s will give you more speed but more stress on your drivetrain. Hope this helps | |
