If you have to pull the trigger for reverse you have more problems than you know...

Sounds like proportional reverse - Esc would have to sense a complete stop of the motor to engage reverse. If your throttle calibration is off just recalibrate and center your throttle trim.

Just a thought - we need more info like stated above.

Which ESC are you running? Many, if not most, give you an option for reverse. It will either be "full stop - then reverse" or "instant reverse". Look at the programming options to see what's what. You're looking for instant reverse, btw.

Your esc needs to be programmed for forward/reverse not forward/brake/reverse

This. Most if not all ESCs will go default to forward/brake/reverse once dragbrake is set to zero. Even some ESCs with dragbrake will still be forward/dragbrake at neutral/brake/reverse unless you specify that you want instantaneous reverse.

But before that, you really should REVERSE your throttle channel so that you push the trigger for brake/reverse instead of pulling--unless of course pull for reverse is your preference.

Or maybe he is holding the transmitter backwards, and he actually is pulling the trigger for reverse. Or maybe he figured it out since he hasn't responded since his original post. Hmm
