Default Soldering to PCB's

Hello,

Does anyone here have experience on soldering heavy gauge wires to PCB’s? For example a 12AWG wire to an ESC board? Because I bought an old BR-XL off the classifieds and the previous owner cut the wires ridiculously short. I know I could probably get away with splicing but I really hate the look of it. If I’m not mistaken, the solder joints on the BR-XL are done using 60/40 leaded solder, which is a bonus since the lead free solder is not fun to work with at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Get old wires out, clean of as much old solder as you can. Then depending on size of hole. trim outer wires down do after you tin the wire it will fit threw the hole. Re tin ecs and then mate them. I would always change out for deans 12ga wire when i was racing.

use a good soldering station, not a cheapie iron. get it nice and hot, then add solder to the posts your trying to unsolder. Pop the bit of wire out, and I use compressed air to blow all the excess away ( blow it off the board not towards it)

There is a device which suck the molten soldered from the PCB, instead of blow it everywhere....
