| Novak motor question...
So I picked up a brushless motor from a buddy... Did a bit of poking around and found that it is the SS13.5 Pro. Figured it might work well in a trail rig. However, I have no idea what the timing is locked at, nor can I pop that end of the can apart ( tried a little, but didn't want to screw anything up). Is it possible to do so? Can I dig up parts to convert it to a regular adjustable timing motor? |

Yes it has adjustable timing. loosen the 3 screws on the back and rotate the colored ring. I hate sending people to RCTech, but it was the best description. Novak GTB & 10.5 Brushless Timing Question - Page 2 - R/C Tech Forums Good little motors. Hope it helps. |

I ran a 17.5ss for quite awhile, only suitable replacement was a step up to a 4 pole. Probably the only good thing nocak has made since the gtb.

I loved my 13.5ss in my wraith till one day the bearing went and it quit. It's still in my bench, maybe to be fixed again soon. I have a 17.5 ballistic in it now, and miss the speed I had. |

I just smoked a front bearing in one of those, gets kinda hot after I replaced the bearing. It didn't seem the timing was adjustable, I'll have to look at that.

So I finally popped this puppy in my scx axled Wraith...and it goes backwards. Can't mirror the trans, can't flip the diffs, and I want to run sensored. Can these be made to run properly in the other direction?

I came across that just a few minutes ago, thanks. Right now I'm running through all the available programs for the LT4 to see if there is one that allows for reverse rotation...but so far that option has been locked out.

Was looking at the BH lt4 manual it says it default set at ccw(locked there). There is a newer software download, maybe there is an reverse option there? I can't see the program on the ipad. Edit: did not read all your last post. I basically said what you said...doh! |

Reverse rotation is locked out on all of the old firmware, but I haven't checked the new one yet though. I'm going to assume it'll be the same in that respect. Guess I'll just have to run sensorless for now. I wonder if I can just buy the timing ring for the Wraith version... |

On the extreme opposite side of the programming option and not to mention a ton more work, you can always run the axles upside down. A cms of course would be required. It does require some trimming but a hand bros cms bracket can be made to fit for the front.

| Re: Novak motor question... From what I am reading the ss motors with the orange timing rings(different colors for different turns) were non removable. ROAR stock spec class shit. Also I think the wraith version ring are specific to the Novak ESCs and their software.
