Exclamation Need Help: ROC 412 Sensored=Reverse Only, Sensorless=Forwards/Reverse

Any ideas? A ROC 412 motor will only go in reverse with the sensor wire connected, but goes forward and reverse when the sensor wire is disconnected (so when the motor is running sensorless). The esc is an MMP. Already tried a new sensor wire but had no luck. Any thoughts what might be the issue?

Thanks for your insight.

Have you checked the MMP's settings with Castle link? If not, I would set all of the settings back to factory default. The motor type should be set to brushless , the sensor type to smartsense.

Other things you can try is recalibrating the ESC with the sensor wire connected and swapping the A and C wires.

Is the esc set on smartsense? All of mine are on that setting.

Kinda strange it will run both directions without the sensor wire but only do one direction with it.

I am the one that had the problem, I took out the sensor wire and cleaned all the terminals thoroughly. Next I reverted my castle link to the last stable (non beta version), I set the esc to sensored only and set the timing to zero. I'm not sure which of these fixed the issue but it runs like a champ now.

Sensored only has solved my similar problems in the past.
