Off the top of my head I'd say it's plugged into the wrong spot, double check the connections? If they are in the correct spots start looking at the receiver.

1 to turn, 2 to burn.

I've found that tying in a ground to the rx along with the signal wire helps eleviate this problem.

1 to turn, 2 to burn?

and by a ground....you mean wire the signal itself to the _____ ?

also, checked the connections and it still persists?

I mean add the ground back into the rx next to the signal wire. Tied into the ground that is going to the servo.

I wire mine like this diagram post #119. Since doing it this way I have not had the problem you are describing.

Definitive wiring diagrams for BECs Rx Servos Motors etc.

Channel 1 to turn the rubber (steering), channel 2 to burn the rubber (ESC)...

Is all you did was change a servo? Are you sure you didn't inadvertently turn on any channel mixing on your transmitter? sometimes rebinding helps. I was having a similar problem where when I adjusted the steering trim it would engage the throttle... After a fresh binding and calibration it went away. Just my 2 cents

this is on my kids wraith which uses analog Tx/Rx, so binding wont assist.
this is frustrating! im thinking this new hitec is a dud?

standing still, it steers fine!
Drive forward and the steering tilts full right.

Turn and hold the steering full left (truck stationary) and hit throttle it still tilts full right?

fuuuuu.....

Where are the servo wires ran? With analog if the wires are ran near the motor or motor wires it can interfere with the signal.

Remove your BEC and check. Backfeeding BEC's can cause wacky stuff.

ill have to give the BEC a try cuz nothing makes sense here??
how it worked just fine with his last servo, although it was a standard type?
now going to an entry level servo like this hs645mg, which will be more then enough for his driving style.

Just curious but what kind of controller you are using? I had the exact same issue with another servo and a axial controller and also had it with a losi controller. I swapped to my futaba controller and it went away. It was the strangest thing I have seen especially since the stock servo didn't do it but it did and it didn't matter if I used the bec or not. It about drove me nuts till I tried the other controller for kicks and just left it at that after.

Just watch what system you get. The 2 I have had issues with doing that were both 2.4ghz systems but both were cheap stocker stuff.
