is it possible to repair it? Is it worth the effort? Where can i buy new brushes ? Brush failure can be due to an overheated motor ?

The rs-540 sport tuned is not rebuildable. It's a $20 motor. Buy another or buy a rebuildable motor. A rebuildable motor would be a better choice and last longer due to bearings and ability to open the ca. To clean it, change springs and brushes and turn the com.
