LED straight off RX?

So I'm about to receive my new SCX10 and I'm wondering if I can connect some LEDs directly to the RX for power or do I have to run a control box?

i have LED's powered by my rx...but the LED lightbars that run on 3s like crawler dads and such I have connected directly to the battery plug on the esc with an on and off switch.

You could get a remote on off switch from hobby king and wire them up. Just make sure the LED can handle the voltage. The Turgy remote receiver controlled switch is what I use

Thanks for the input guys. I've found a fairly cheap controller box now so I won't bother stuffing around making cables haha.

Not too late, still waiting for the truck itself to arrive haha. Thanks for the link, heaps of info for me in there. No idea why it didn't come up in my search, I never seem to have much luck with my forum searches haha.
