Question running lights off a 9v battery? any ideas?

Hey there, I'm building a new trail rig and I'm using the rc4wd mojave basic light kit (z-E0016).
All the information I can find is that it runs directly off your receiver. I'd instead like to just toss a 9v in the tool box and wire in a switch for the simple ease of not having to unplug them from the receiver every time I remove the body. Lazy, I know. Here's the question though.... I'm assuming by "directly from the receiver" they mean I should be running this set up on 6v. Is there any way of reducing the voltage from a 9v down to what I assume I need? I'm lost. Any ideas?

I used to run 2 led waterproof lights I found in the marine section of Walmart off a 9v with a switch. It worked great. All lights I've been looking at online say the voltage is 9-15v. You'll be fine with a 9v battery. They only advertise 6v because that's all the receiver puts out.

I bought Integy 5 light LED strings for the cheap then I picked up some 9v to JST connectors and voila, I don't even use a switch, they're either on or off

it is SO MUCH cheaper than other units

it's the only Integy products I own and have had zero problems

I know you don't want to consider running it off the Rx but why not just hook up an extension so when you remove the body you just unplug the extension from the body and don't have to mess with the Rx at all? Just a thought.
