Default Holmes rx bypass clarification

When using the Holmes hobbies rx bypass adapter, I don't have to disconnect the red esc wire correct?

Thanks in advance for advice.

Correct, you do not. The ESC will need that wire to get power from the battery.

The servo is getting its own direct power and just the servo signal wire goes to the RX.

The red wire from the ESC will power the receiver. The white and black plug goes to the receiver. The 3 lead end goes to the servo, and the red and black to the bec.
