Cut the bullet connectors off, and solder on traxxas. Leave the balance plug alone.

The 5.5mm plugs I don't believe will fit into the Traxxas ends. They have adaptors on their site.
5.5mm Bullet-Connector to TRX plug Battery Adapter (2pcs/bag)

They also make traxxas specific batteries.

If you're happy with that good for you!

I prefer the neater option to use a single connector standard with less cable to tuck away.
Cutting and soldering should be as easy as bread and butter for anybody in this hobby, but it does take some practice to get there.

I read some thing awhile ago and it said something that 5.5 bullets w/10 gauge wire allowed for better current flow.. PERSONAL PREFERANCE

Why not just buy a battery with the correct Traxxas connectors, no need to solder or use an adapter at all.

It sure does! You might even notice the difference while pulling >100A.

For a crawler using <30A it's a non issue. Thinner wires provide more flexibility and less weight which is beneficial for the crawling performance.
That's also one of the reasons why higher voltage is better than higher current in a crawler.
