| Madtorque 8 electronics: what a piece of junk!
Hi, I recently purchased a Madtorque 8 and all in all I like it, but... The electronics on it is a piece of junk. After only 1.5hr ride the servo died, as aspected, but it also managed to take the esc with him! The servo was replaced with T-Pro servo and the esc was replaced in a warranty. Today (after 6hr ride in total) the rx end his life... I didn't expect the highest quality of this rig but even though I am surprise to see how lousy the electronic is.. FYI P.S, already ordered a new radio (Radiolink RC3S) and am planning on getting a new ESC and motors too. |

A crawler puts a heavy load on the servo, causing i to drawl lots of current. If the current is drawn from the ESC's BEC the ESC will often get into trouble. A broken BEC in the ESC will cause trouble all over. Unusual, but the Rx might have gotten out of spec voltages from the broken BEC as described above. Do get a separate BEC for the servo if you want to avoid future problems. It doesn't have to be expensive. I use this one. | |
