| 13t Crawlmaster
Okay gentlemen, while I'm 99% sure about this I thought I'd confirm with the experts. I bought a CrawlMaster Pro 13t today as I'm looking for something smoother then my ROC412. My question is I run a Vp dig and had to turn the transmission around, I didn't mirror it just turned it around. I see the ROC is presently spinning clock wise for forward motion which I set with my mmp, I believe the CM has a counter clock wise rotation. I bought the motor from my lhs and believe its set to 0 timing leading me to think I can simply change the positive and negative poles around to change the rotation. First question, can the brushed motor direction be changed with the mmp as it does with brush-less sensored motors? Second question, being the CM looks to have a 0 timing setting will I or can I change the pos and neg around for reverse rotation. I just dont want to take a chance of hurting my new CrawlMaster. Its not a rush by any means, in fact I bought the motor on a whim and word of mouth on their outstanding quality. I'm new to crawling and the ROC412 was the first motor I ever bought, now I learn brushed is still smoother and if your going to do something go first class I always say. Sounds to me like HH is as first class as it gets. Thank for the heads up tho.

Just change the wires.

If there is timing you turn it the other way. Mirroring wouldn't change the direction, rotating the transmission the other direction does.

There no room for the spur gear, it would hit the dig, its like having a motor on each side. I might just do away with the dig since they only allow it in class three anyway. You can see buy the pic why I cant mirror it, the dig is just to darn big, even if the motor, seen on the other side of the dig could be switched the spur wont clear the hug dig when mirrored. Reversing the wires will be just fine. I would suggest a bit of timing is added, you will need to rotate the endbell in the opposite direction of the regular timing marks. 1/2 to 1 hash mark of rotation, just enough so that forwards is slightly faster than reverse.

In your professional opinion would this be sufficient with a clock wise rotation? I made the mark to make it easier for me to see, I'm certain you dont need the reference mark.. Thank you again for your time.

Well I installed the CrawlMaster today. It will take some time to get used to the rig being a lot slower but the crawling control is unbelievable. So far I've just messed around the house since its getting late, geared 11/56 on 3s it seems like it will have just enough wheel speed when needed, I my try a 12 tooth since I'm used to a 3100kv ROC412. I'll just go by motor temps and gear from there. Last edited by billy bones; 06-24-2015 at 08:38 PM. |

coming back from brushless takes some getting used to, it sounds like you got the right start.
