Default onyx 245 questions

Dose anyone have and use an onyx 245?
I'm looking to buy a new charger for my batteries. I want one charger that will charge 2 batteries at a time. I will be leaving this at my other house so it won't be my daily use charger. If this is not a good model for dual charging suggestions please. I'm wanting to be under 150.

Thanks

The 245 is fine for what you're wanting to do and the Duratrax Onyx are good chargers. The Hitec Ultima X2 is a little more ($135 at Tower with code 014WC) but has twice the power/charge current. The Onyx 245 is $110 with code 014WB and both chargers currently qualify for ship ground free.

Both are great dual port chargers and will charge two LiPo's at the same time. I prefer the Hitec, my friends are using the Onyx, we haven't had a problem with either brand.

EDIT: Just noticed the Hitec Ultima X2 is DC only, you'll need a separate power supply to run it on AC power.

I've had a 245 for over 2 years now.. I love it. I got it because my son and it were both racing and I wanted to be able to charge 2 packs at once...and he was using nimh at the time, and I had lipos...so it was nice to be able to charge 2 different types of packs...it works great for what it is and comes with 3 different leads (traxxas, tamiya, and deans) plus the balance boards and stuff... easy to use also...

I have had mine for a couple years and love it. I would highly suggest one. It also has a lipo safe cut off for when it is past dead.

Thanks guys! I'm going to use the tower codes and hopefully enjoy. Are the leads long enough to use lipo bag etc.

There is a 245 in the scratch and dent section for $84. It says it is missing 2 charge leads. I got my 235 from scratch and dent for $50 and there was nothing wrong with it.

Your welcome! Mine didn't even have a scratch on it. You would have to spend $5 more to qualify for the 014WC code or $14 more to also get free ship.

In my experience I have found that the Onyx chargers are very basic and some people have a hard time with the programming. I think Hitec is the way to go, you get a lot for your money and they are super easy to use. I think the best deal out there right now is the new Hitec X2 AC Plus, it is AC/DC, dual port and will charge up to 10 amps. Sells for $99 at Tower

HItec hands down over Duratrash...here's the ac/dc Hitec X2:

I ended up with 2 of the Hitec X1 MF chargers, they are great, AC/DC 10amp charge rate, servo tester and brushless motor checker built in. I probably woulda bought the X2AC Plus myself but it wasn't out yet.
