| Issues with ESC and new servo on losi trekker...???
I upgraded my Trekker to run with my DX4S by adding a Spektrum DSMR receiver and a brushed 10 amp ESC from China. I also switched out the cheapo servo that losi had in there for the steering and put in an HS-65bb. the motor runs just fine, but for some reason the servo acts all weird and stuff. It won't keep center and when I turn it, and then let go of the steering wheel it doesn't go back to center, it just stays in the last position that I input from the TX. I don't have the throws too high, I checked that in the radio, so no binding. It's a brand new servo just picked up from LHS today. So any ideas what's going on? Could it in fact be a bad servo, or perhaps is it my cheap, Chinese ESC not outputting enough power for the servo to operate properly? But why would it turn like it's supposed to, but not go back to center when released??? Really wanting to get this figured out so it will run properly! Thanks! -Clint |

Try to plug in the old servo , see how it reacts to the new esc and radio.

You have to troubleshoot this one step at a time. Like old_man said, try plugging in the old servo to the new receiver with the new ESC. I'm guessing you are having weird interference or one of the new parts is defective. |

Ok, thanks guys! I'll work on troubleshooting today... Question though, if I wanted to replace the cheap Chinese ESC I bought, for one perhaps on RC4wd.com what would be a good, but not too expensive brushed ESC that would work with the stock Trekker brushed motor??? Thanks! -Clint |

A brushed ESC to fit a Trekker has to be tiny. The best inexpensive brushed ESC's that I know of are the HobbyKing X-Car 45A or the HobbyWing QuicRun 10. HobbyKing: HobbyKing X-Car 45A Brushed Car ESC (AR Warehouse) HobbyWing: HOBBYWING North America — QUICRUN 16 Brushed ESC You could also try this brushed ESC. I have no experience with it: 20A Brushed ESC - Turnigy TZ4 AWD/Drift Spec You can save space by taking the larger ESC's out of their cases. |
