Default Axial Trail Breaker Motors

Anyone have any thoughts on these? Axial Racing - JAN. 2016

Quote:
The Trail Breaker rebuildable brushed motor was designed exclusively for RC rock crawlers and high torque applications. Within the motor you’ll find sealed precision ball bearings at each end for improved efficiency and performance. Beyond that is a balanced commutator and hard brushes designed with long wear characteristics in mind, making it ideal for more run time and less down time. The 35T is a good balance between wheel speed and torque.

• Rebuildable design
• Precision ball bearings
• Balanced commutator
• Solder-less brush replacement
• 3s LiPo capable
• Genuine Axial product

Balanced commutators and hard brushes What I think is that they needed somebody else to write the copy. Hard brushes will wear out the motor faster than soft brushes, but I bet they aren't actually any harder than the same motor that Integy imports. Not a bad price though.

Balanced commutator makes zero sense and hard brushes kill the commutator more quickly than softer brushes, which are more easily replaced than the armature.

I had to try balancing a commutator. On top of this tranny output.

Hmm.. rebuild this cheap motor for $10 every couple of months or buy a new sealed 27T for $12.50. I'll stick with the 27t's for my brushed rigs, love them!

Sweet, they bought the integy (along with 5+ others) motor....put worse brush hoods on it, slapped an axial sticker on it.....and charged $10 more dollars..
