| Converting to LiPo?
My 4 and 6 year old have a Maisto 3XL (toy quality RC) that comes with a 6.4v lithium rechargeable battery pack (2 AA size batteries packaged together). I would like them to get more run time by converting these to use a 1000 mah 2s LiPo 1000. Two questions: 1) Am I going to fry everything? 2) How can I calculate the current mah to estimate how much run time I would be gaining? |

1) Not likely. There's not that much difference in actual voltage. 2) You can't calculate it. The best you can do is to measure the capacity of the current batteries and then recalculate from there. Take into account that the new batteries will provide a little more current, so they'll provide a little (~10%) less runtime (and more fun) per mAh. |
