| Best Brushless system for Axial Bomber
Hey, I am getting an Axial Bomber Kit soon, but I kind of got a budget. I have the servo and the transmitter picked out but I am still looking for a good system. I have been looking at the MMP with the Holmes Hobby Puller Pro or a Tekin Roc412. Also, is the Novak Timbuk 2 wraith edition any good? Any answers would help.

The MMP is now discontinued and will no longer be receiving firmware updates. I would look at the Mamba X. It is about the same size as the MMP but is waterproof, has a nicer case, datalogging, and a much better BEC.

The best that I have seen is what I put in my sons Bomber; Mamba Monster X with a 3500kv Puller Pro XL. I have the Mamba Monster X with a 3500kv Puller Pro standard in my Bomber. I like the exceptional slow crawling of the standard, but the pure power and not worrying about overheating of the XL is awesome! |

How slow can it go without major cogging with the puller pro 3500kv?

Budget? Batteries? 2s, 3s, 4s? Expected run time? Use of vehicle: Crawler / Racer? Novak may have gotten better, but I have seen more of their ESC's smoke or die in 26 years than any other brand & customer service is horrible. Tekin is nice, but Castle is great for the kind of abuse crawlers go through. Even Holmes puts his sticker on Castle products. |

Avoid Novak, Mamba X and Holmes puller pro are easily your best bang for the buck and imho, your best option period.

Novak is no longer in business, so definitely avoid them. I run a Mamba Max Pro with a Holmes 3500kv Puller Pro in mine, and its fantastic. I'll upgrade to the Mamba X at some point.

I already have a 2s lipo battery so I am good for now. I am looking for an all around vehicle where I can bash with some speed and crawl.

I have a Holmes Puller Pro 3500KV Standard and Trailmaster BLE Pro in my Bomber and it goes awesome. It does run fairly warm though, even with a 10T pinion. I managed to put the ESC into thermal protection shutdown the other day, although this was during the peak of an Australian summer and I was trying to drive out of a pretty nasty bind after tearing around at full speed for half an hour. I will probably end up putting in a Puller Pro XL though, as my Bomber sees more high speed stuff than all out crawling these days. |

I am looking towards the puller pro. Should I get the 2200kv or the 3500kv. Also, are they waterproof?

You can pay $10 extra for waterproofed versions. For 2S batteries that you have now, the 2200kv will be extremely slow. It's good for crawling on 3S and faster still on 4S. However - the 3500kv is the most popular by far for use in a Bomber. It will be noticeably quicker on your 2S packs, but get some 3S and watch it really wake up... As Holmes says, Gear Down and Volt up! You can always gear down a 3500kv even on 3S to crawl very nicely. Run your 2S batteries and when you can afford to beef up the drivetrain, get some 3S. i just put the puller pro stubby 2700kv in my bomber, i run it on 3s. it's not a "speed demon" but it's plenty fast for racing in my opinion, and it crawls super smooth.

With the Puller Pro, is the stubby version as smooth as the standard version for crawling? I'm thinking about putting either a 2200kv or 2700kv in an SCX10.2 running 2S.

I am awaiting delivery of my Mamba Monster X and my Puller Pro 540XL 3500 for my bomber. I did not want to feel like my bomber was underpowered it will be used as my fun rig (hill climbs, bashing, rock bouncing) my scx10.2 is my crawler and it runs a mamba x with a tekkie roc412 3100kv. Both trucks are ran on 3s.

| Re: Best Brushless system for Axial Bomber from what i remember reading, the stubby is supposed to be geared more for crawling. smooth startups and and torque. i think it would be good in an scx10.

Do you guys think that a puller pro stubby 2700kv or higher be good in a bomber?
