Default Scx10 problems

I have a scx10, and it is cutting out. It runs forward about 3 seconds then it just stops and I have to back up for it to be able to go forward again. It also, on the rocks, just gives up and doesn't try to make it over. I've totally replaced my electronics, so I'm wondering if it's my gearing or battery. What do you guys think?

You've totally replaced your electronics because of this issue or you just put in different electronics and it started happening?

Sounds like an esc or motor issue to me, have you tried reversing the channels and or reversing the direction on your motor?

It was happening before I replaced them. I replaced my stock esc with an AE-5 and I replaced the motor thinking that was it when the AE-5 didn't fix it. I just stuck one of my other receivers in there to test it but it still didn't work

Hmmm. Strange, are you running a nickle metal battery or lipo? Could be with the battery and a combination of a nick or slice on a wire somewhere causing a short.

I'd wait and see if somebody else has had these same issues your having and see what they say. Also I'd try searching about troubleshooting problems with the AE-5.

I am running a nimh, but I don't think it is a slice in a wire because it does the same with both my batteries, and I use that same batteries in my drift car. I'll look into it, it seems like ok the only one with this problem haha.

I don't understand. Does the drivetrain run smoothly without the motor attached? Can you rule out the possibility of any mechanical problems with the gears in the transmission and both axles?

Do you have the jumper on the AE5 in NIMH mode?

He already said he replaced all his electronics, and also tried nimh batteries. How on earth could this be the problem?

Um, simple. Has nothing to do with "replacing" electronics, it has to do with an adjustment... not switching the button or changing the tab on the AE-5. Might have for got to do that. Whatever the process is on that particular controller...
