Awesome, I don't have any specific custom needs, but I have always wanted to get into these tiny boards. This may be a cheap starter project. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |

Here is the design. Headlights get a bit brighter on engine rev up. Brake light on at neutral throttle position and dimmer (tail light) when throttling up or down. Signal lights. Brightness controlled by 490Hz PWM so no blinking. Good luck DIY LED Controller |

Before I order it seems like this programs via USB, is anything else required or recommend to get started? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |

You will need a micro USB cable and to download the programming environment from arduino.cc

I made a small modification to the code so that the lights come on after your first rev of the engines (to match the start sound of my ESS-ONE). LED Light Controller V2 |

Maybe you should take a look there => https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ght-Controller It's running on ATMega328 either nano or full size board and has plenty of functions. |

Nice project. Wish I had found it before starting my own. Mine does exactly what I needed for now but if you need more outputs check out the Open Source Light controller.

That open source board could be made 1/4 the size if they used a nano or pro mini and a daughter board with mini mosfets. The Adafruit you linked to uses the same chip so the code should work with little to no mods, you'd just need mosfets or trasistors if you want to power more than 2 LED's per output. The open source project looks pretty inclusive tho, I'll be checking it out.
