Default GT3C update issue, Swim connection error

Trying to update my FS-GT3C-m Rev 1.6 using an ST-link V2, I originally had the wires hooked up near the transmitter as per the videos, I got a swim error, checked all connections all where fine. I want to note that the GT3C is different then the GT3B, all pins are still there, plus a few

I then found the pinout diagram for the STM8S-Discovery board SWIM connector to attach it like overkillRC does
[IMG][/IMG]

I then connected everything following this and overkillRC video and picture instructions to get the same result, Error on SWIM
[IMG][/IMG]

This is then end result, the blue wire is not connected but is the reset wire (not needed but overkill had it hooked up)

Does anyone know a Fix for this? a possible solution? or am I going to have to get an STM8S-discovery board in order to flash my GT3C, I can provide any other pictures or info needed

Thanks Guys!

Were you able to us that ST-Link on another transmitter, as in have you verified it's working?

I'm not sure if you looked at your own pics, but they tell us nothing. What color wires connect to what pins on your ST-Link? This wire diagram worked for me:

Your connections on the ST-Link are incorrect, GND and SWIM are swapped. That middle pin in the notch is GND, the pin to the right is SWIM.

Also ditch photobucket & switch to imgur.com, it's like the difference between a 1970's transmitter and a hacked 2018 transmitter.

That's really odd, most ST-Link v2 pics I find have a different pinout like that below. Mine actually looks identical to this pic with the "M" logo.

Maybe take a DMM and probe the pins when it's plugged in, verify the 5v and GND are correct. It's possible the actual pinout doesn't match the etched pinout. If the radio doesn't power up when you plug it in they're obviously not right.

It could just be bad hardware, too.

This link indicates there are multiple types of "V2": https://community.st.com/thread/30691

So either my ST-LINK V2 is just bunk...or I got one that is possibly to old of a version...or the Rev 1.6 just can not be flashed? I guess I will order another ST-LINK, or should I just get the STM8S- DISCOVERY board? Ill probe around with a multi meter here in a few just to confirm things on the ST-LINK. the radio powers up and beeps like is said should happen
Thanks

I have the same ST-Link V2 as R3DRumG33k, same pinout.
Don't have my GT3C yet... Was this issue resolved?

Bit of a thread resurrection.
I have the same programmer (same pinout) and a v1.6 GT3C radio.

As soon as I connect power and gnd it starts beeping.
Doesn't matter which way swim and rst go, either the way the guide points or the way the programmer says, just beeps and won't read in the software.
