| Dual esc 1 or 2 batteries
Iv been piecing together a brushless moa over the last several years and the finish line is in sight! But need a little help with the power source. 2x Tekin RX4 2X Tekin roc 412 3100KV Can I run 2 esc's off one batt? If so what kind of discharge rate should I be looking at? I would asssume by hooking up 2 esc/motors to one batt would theoretically cut my mAH and C ratings in half? I used to have a Summit and a hopped up revo several years back I ran with Lipo a few years back, Im not a complete worm when it comes to these lipos, but I do prefer my Nitro!!! Thanks J |

Wouldn't necessarily cut you're battery capacity in half. If I take a single motor rig and turn it into a dual motor rig, I'm not suddenly doubling the amount of power requires to perform the same tasks. For example if I'm doing MOA for myself, it's for dig and drag, not more torque or speed. I'm now splitting the power requirements between two motors. All depends on what you are doing and why you're doing it. |

not being built for speed, just for crawling... 30:1 worm axles are gunna be quite demanding But in the end mah and c ratings will ultimately be determined by what I can fit in a space 5.25" long and up to 2.5"wide at the moment Iv found a single 50c 5000mah 3s or dual 35c 1300mah 3s batteries...(dual 35c 5000mah 3s will fit but 1.5 pounds!) venom, ugh... still searching other battery manufactures, but seems like everybody likes a 6"! Dissadvantages to running one large batt over 2 smaller batteries??? |

Never give up on worms! With the 25:1 setup, you will like the 3100kv motors on 3s. You should be fine bud. but if you are looking for longer run times a 2000mAh 3s will give me about 20-25 minutes of crawling time with my 13.5 sensored motors I run. (might be more) If that rx4 can handle 4s, dip down into a lower kv motor set for even longer run times. you will just lose a little wheelspeed. |

Used to have a roommate with a night crawler, been piecing this project together ever since... I bought rc4wd out of all their 25:1 gear sets so I would have spare parts. and 10 sets (10 fronts 10 rears) of the xvd axle sets when they still made them. next payday ima pick up another set of worminators just for parts. |

If I look at 2s batteries instead of 3s there is a better size and weight selection, but not thrilled about less power! would 100c give me much advantage over a 60c bolth options around 5000mah, 2 cell |

Keep your RC life simple, run one pack. Dual ESCs in my XR10 running off of a 3S 1300mha pack would give me about 45 minutes or run time. A 5000mha pack should last for hours. The C-rating is how much current your pack will deliver when the ESC(s) pull power. For most of what we do, 50C is more than enough, but the general rule is to get as high of a C-rating as you can. With two ESCs, you might be pushing the 60C pack, but in a crawler, it will be doubtful. If it were my crawler and my money, I'd get the 100C pack if my wallet supported it. |

One thing to note... The amount of current a pack is capable of delivering is C rating times capacity (mAh). So a bigger pack can deliver more current with the same C rating. 50C 1500mAh = 75 amps 50C 5000mAh = 250 amps. Higher C packs are all around better quality, though. |

Not deliver. The ESC is going to draw the current it wants to draw, regardless of C rating. Think of C rating as a guide to how well it can handle the current being drawn from it. A 100C battery will handle the demand more efficiently then a 20C battery will, always. At some point, the cost is a diminishing returns, but if you do want the most efficient battery pack and cost doesn't matter, go with a higher C rating. |

OK, maybe "capable of delivering" is not the best expression, I'll go with "the manufacturer claims the pack is supposed to be able to deliver without problems, voltage sag, cell damage etc" |

Ended up buying 2 different batteries Gens ace 3500mAh 2s 60c ProTek 4100mAh 3s 120c gotta start somewhere. Cant do anything more untill I build a battery tray and mount the battery, and then locate the esc's |
