Crazy specs! Relatively fast too.

Not sure I’ll ever have a need for this but it’s cool to know it’s there.

The page says no BEC use. In that case, I'm out.

Do they literally mean you CANNOT use a BEC with it? I can't see why that would matter?

Maybe it pulls more amps than most hobby sized BEC's can provide, so it's safest to run direct off a 2s? The 2290 pulls 9.2a stall current and puts out 694oz of torque, I'd imagine that 1,000oz might need more...

Over on the pro shafty and moa page, this servo has been talked about a few times. I know a couple guys who run them. they have had no issue running them at 7.4. It's definitely a certain application servo ie. Super, 2.2m, 2.2s. Or any other comp rig really.

I'll be using 2 on my super losi build for sure. Maybe move some rocks with it lol..

Though if I remember correctly.. I think there is a certain hitec servo that Dlux sells a servo strengthener for. Might be a cheaper combo than the Futaba unit.

I've had one in a gayler for over a month. Works well but it isn't as fast as my savox 2290 even though its specs say it is really close.

It is an airplane servo and most of those becs are only good for a couple amps. It works fine on a 10 amp castle bec.

The strengthener also cuts the speed in half so the already painfully slow 7980/7990 goes to a crawl while only putting out 1200 oz. Futaba makes another 700 series that is good for 685ish oz at .075 so with a strengthener it would put out 1350+ oz at normal speed. Erik is looking into those for a sthuper build.

My 7990s were impressive, but a PIA to fit anywhere. I'll be ordering a couple of these...
