| New Racerstar brushed ESCs
Racerstar has some new brushed ESCs, a 60a for $20 and an 80a for $25. Nothing too exciting, but one thing that caught my eye is that they have a 7.4v switching BEC. These may be worth looking at for a budget build or a lightweight crawler where you don't want to spend the $40 for an 1080, but want a higher servo voltage than what the 1040 and 1060 can provide. https://www.rcjuice.com/motor-esc/ca...hed-esc-s.html |

Nice find. Pretty interesting. I wonder who the OEM is for this one. I'm sure we've probably seen these before under a different guise, but just didn't notice it?

Nice find. Those really look like the cheap ESC's that come in Chinese RTRs.

| Re: New Racerstar brushed ESCs They probably are. Racerstar isn't exactly high end stuff. It's the same as the GoolRC stuff from ebay, but I've got a few of their systems in different vehicles. I'm very pleased with their motors. The ESCs are about what you'd expect from a $20 brushless ESC. These brushed ESCs look like they may be a notch or two higher in terms of quality/features. I may pick up a couple just to try out.

There is another one out here for crawlers, bought it, installed not run it, truck in build stage. Hobbywing 1080 - RC Crawler ESC Thought it is slick, brushed motor, offers finer control & custom adjustments. There is a Utube out there, not sure if allow to post, cause it is a product offer, and no not connected in anyway, just passing information. Pep |

it must be because the 1080 ESC runs backwards faster the forward, like as is in 3Xs. I've dicked with it all day never was able to get the F&R close. Forward is fine reveres is ridiculous. I swear I read the paper work, reset factory setting, a few times. Took it out of the truck, ran abound the block, and drove it too and from Wendys, no change. So stumped, & thinking. Pep |

Just kept hammering on it, figured it out, knew the wiring was good. It was the transmitter, easiest way to describe the problem. The launch, or start up value was set to high, turned it down and tamed it down, much better..... The 1080 has a hand held programmer, slick cause you can really fine tune the drivability. 16 base lines of control can be altered. About 4 separate brake instances alone, Pep |

I have had a faster running motor in reverse before. Figured out it was motor had timing on it and I was running it in reverse to the timing. If you Set the end bell to 0 degrees timing and it should even out.
