Default XL brushless motors

i know that the turns for brushed motors vary between 540 and 550 sized cans. like a 27t 540 is about the same as a 21t 550. does it work the same way with brushless motors? what is the speed difference between a standard puller pro 3500 and an XL 3500? would they be about the same or is the xl going to be slower than the standard?

Default Re: XL brushless motors

KV is a measurement of RPMs per volt so a 3500KV 540 motor should make the same RPMs as a 3500KV 550 motor. The 550 however will make draw more amps, drain the battery faster, and make more torque than a comparable 540 motor.
