Default Potential issue with HH shv800

Just got a shv800 for my ryft. Got it installed and all wired up. We'll it turns further left than it does to the right. I went to set endpoints and I got it a little better, but still goes further to the left and I can't get it to go full lock in either direction no matter what I do. Any ideas to fix this issue? Thanks.

Move the servo horn or maybe flip the servo around?

Could be radio settings too.

First center the servo, then install the arm. Make sure both subtrim and steering trim is at zero . Have you changed the drag link or ends?

Check your Radio and center servo at 0 % I have 3 of these servos and they work flawless and turn fully both ways.... BUZZZZZ........

I did all that when i installed it. Radio setting were all centered/zeroed. Never changed any links or anything. My old servo would slam the tires into the lower links before i set the endpoints, this servo comes about 1/4 inch away either side.

If you have tried everything. Holmes hobbies has excellent customer service. You will be taken care of. Could be a faulty pot or something.

Just out of curiosity are you using the stock radio? With only 2 dials for steering trims?
One for center and one for endpoints?

Because some spektrum radios like the DX5pro have even more settings that are much less obvious and you can make the radio read neutral when it is not neutral, instead of the regular showing not neutral after setting the trimms.
If you have a fancy remote like that, I would recommend binding to a new profile with default settings. or putting a servo input monitor inline so you can see the signal.

I am sure there are cheaper options, i just use an arduino myself

Eeemh isnt the servo programmable?? So you can change the throw? I can do that with almost all my servos.

Are you talking about programming servo settings or adjusting the signal from the radio? These are totally different things to me.

Actually program the servo with a program card ...nowadays that is almost standard. The thread creator was complaining about not having enough throw .

Standard?
Not for most here. High end servos are though

Yeah, Reef’s comes to mind.

Curious to see what the resolution is here, I just picked up two 800’s, no issue with my Flysky gt5.

Could be worth swapping in a different servo to compare, not clear if you were replacing a servo or this was the first servo you’ve put into it.

From my understanding most firmware from servos are based on the same programming. But minor changes do occur. Holmes hobbies has the ability to reprogram their servos, but the software to do that is not public.

Possibly other software could do it, but more is likely to go wrong then right.

Many hitec servos can be programed.

Public software for this purpose has probably been dumbed down, and has many less parameters to adjust.

But since there is no public software or ftdi device to conect it to a pc for the Holmes servo, I would just send it in for repair.

Savox servos I think also don't offer programming. Maybe it's more popular with airplane servos.

I have heard that the hi-tech programming suite works with other servos. But I never owned hi-tech or tried using its programmer.

Since a servo is basically an esc/gearbox/position sensor and motor all in one package... I forgot the rest of this thought
