Sign me up for one of your testings

I love my Lathe motor. running one motor and 1 3000 pack, i get right about 1 hr. runtime.

With making it more turns like you want, that would make it slower right? My lathe right now is almost too slow with a 9/72 gearing i have.

I would still like to try one of these motors out if you get done with them

kaetwo,
that's the kind of feedback i am looking for. does your integy 55 have bearings? mine does not. my idea is to fine tune the winding number(perhaps making doubles, triples and quads. must explore), full bearings, hand wound, and most importantly, balance the armature.

Default Well....

I do have bearings in my 55x1's motors. They have the EPIC endbells and not the Yokomo ones that some of the 55x1 have.

I'm not sure if a winding greater than a single would give the type of torque needed for a crawling application but its worth a try. You never know :-)

I would love to see a 40x1. Somthing with a little speed as well as torque.

Good luck on your testing.

Ahhh Chafey, I'm a man of many talents and centering the hood is one of my specialties :-)

Germjp - There is a few different tools for tuning motors. Check out Fantom, PMI, etc...for some of these tools. If you have any questions, just shoot me an email and I'll be happy to hook you up.

you know what i would like to see?? i would like to see a 10 turn, 4 or 8 magnetic pole motor. using super strong magnets- it would spin slow enough and have great efficiency.

I totally agree with Kaetwo's Pro/Con list, and I would like to see a motor with a little more rpm than the 55T as well.

I'd be happy to be a beta tester as well.

The TRINITY Monster Maxx Pro motors are 17turn's. I would think it would be way to fast w/o some sort of gear reduction. PLUS they are $50 ea.

I too have been thinking about trying some different things with motor designs.
But first I need to get my DYNO :?

any high quality, hand wound motor will be around $50 or more. to me it's worth the price for what you get. hand wound and balanced armature motors are killer. while i was crawling in my backyard practice course today(TLT w/integy 55), i was definetely wishing for just a tad more speed at times. not a lot, just a bit. kaetwo's 40x1 sounds like a good place to start.

i'm currently looking for a supplier of cans, endbells, armatures, brushes, etc. once i get that happening, the actual winding and assembly won't take long. these motors(ideally)will have adjustable timing as well.

I got my monster maxxs for FREE. the're mounted with a 72t spur and 9t pinion with a gd600. the truck tops out at about a blistering 5 mph. and thats in second gear. don't no what it is in first. i just wish they had more torque.

oh yea sign me up for a set of motors when the're done.
