| Nomadio React Vs Dx6
OK I have been reading about both... I like the idea of a 4 channel pistol grip radio. But how hard are the buttons to get to on the react? I mean the Dx6 everything is pretty easy to reach. Just have to get use to running a stick radio. So My question is... from these 3 radios... Which ones does the best over all? Which give you the best advantges for Dual ESC's? Things to think about. Ease of use and reach on switches, dials, and buttons. Will be ran with Dual ESC's... 1. Nomadio Sensor 4-Channel DSS Radio 2. Nomadio React 3. DX6 Last edited by run2jeepn; 06-28-2007 at 08:51 PM. |

It mostly depends on a couple factors. One you cited. Do you want to learn to drive a thumbstick controller or not. The other factor is how exactly do you want to control your rear esc. I've not had time to figure out how to properly blend front to rear. If/when I have time (maybe this weekend) I'll do a little video like I did for the dx6 for how I have mine set up. I will be setting up my full time clod once I get all my parts in from RCP. Hopefully I can get them in before I go on vacation week after next. I'm going to do loads of crawling at Red River, NM, so I'll have lots of drive time with my react. |

Absolutly love my react. The buttons are very easy to reach and the contoller feels good in your hand. The programing is very basic didn't even have to read a manual. Updates for the programing and such are available online. Best prices for new ones are on ebay. Working on affording a dual setup. About the only thing you can do though is place the rear esc on brake. |

Can you adjust the power to each axle when ever you want with the React?

Nope you sure can't. If you want full controll use the DX6, it will take some time to get used to but it will pay off in the end. Plus it's cheaper. |

Thats just some of what you can do with the Spektrum. If you're not opposed to a stick? I'd recommend it I should also point out that with the popularity of the scalers now days, the 6-7 channels are handy for lights/winchs/etc Last edited by freetimecrawler; 06-30-2007 at 11:54 AM. | |

Never had a Spektrum, but I have Hitec Laser 4, which is a 4 channel stick Radio. Doesn't take long to get used to it, I have it set up so that the throttle is all on the left stick, and steering is all on the right stick.

I have a React and I love it. Piston grip with an unlimited set of options. I would have to say that it is a bit daunting at first but when you take the time to paly with it you will find out how much fun it can be.

Here is the place I ordered my nomadio sensor kit from. This the cheapest price that I've found on the net. They also have deals on the react also. http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...sku.html?open= |

I have the DX6, DX7, Sensor, and React. The DX7 is strictly for plane/heli use. The DX6 is for the Supers The React is in my 2.2 comp rig (need more transceivers for the React) The Sensor stays in Ralph (need more transceivers for the Sensor too) I also use the DX3 on a couple of scalers. The reason I don't use the React or Sensor on the Super is because I want control over each axle and that's something you can't get with the Nomadio pistols. The DX6 rocks, the DX7 is overkill. Another option is the Futaba 2.4GHz 6EX FASST TX/RX combo. |

I don't use the React on my Hustler (DX6 on it and my Stick as well)...Hensel might. I know when Hensel went with a stick on his clod he'd drive it like a tank, forward/aft on each stick was throttle, left/right on each steered either the front or rear. The React will allow you to drive a tank...pull the trigger and both tracks are driven at the same rate. Turn the steering wheel and it'll bias one track more than the other. But it won't allow you to drive a Clod like a tank...It's basically taking the two channels (throttle and steering) and mixing them like an elevon or V-tail mix in the DX6 or DX7. The problem with this is that we need four independent channels to drive a Clod; two independent for steering, and two independent for throttle (or a single throttle channel). The React mixes throttle and steering when in tank mode. I've thought and thought about how to make the React work as well as my DX6 for a Super and have found that it won't do what I need. Heck, when I got the React to review for RC Driver I spent several hours on the phone with the software engineers explaining how the radio worked vs. what the manual states. Once I picked up DX6 over a year ago I never looked back. I use the DX6 for all of my crawlers 2.2, scale, super. I did not change my throttle spring so i also use DX6 for my TREX Heli. The main reason for using the DX6 for so many applications including the 2.2 class is the receiver cost! $50 and you get a 6 channel receiver. The receiver for the DX3 is at least $70 plus the DX3.0 can only hold 4 settings, while my DX6 holds 10. I still fly quite a lot so I am used to the dual stick format, I drive some of the guys nuts when I start flipping switches back and forth to get my super to dig using the mixing features of the dx6. I am also using the landing gear switch to turn on and off my DUD on the 2.2 pimp. If you do plan to get a DX6 get some voltage protectors it helps when my voltage drops due to binding or just bound up in the rocks. Here are some links for DX6 mods thanks JIA Picked up and modded a DX6 Double the battery life of DX6/DX3 for $16 Last edited by RATBASTARD808; 07-02-2007 at 05:02 AM. |
