I think that asking a loyal Novak customer to pony up $80 because the have an esc that is discontinued is to high. I have a couple Novaks escs that I have worn out over time and would have gladly traded them in to get the product that replaced it, but the calculation ended up being 75% of street price. So I could save the same with a Tower Hobbies discount and then by another brand. I like Novak products, I support the company, but items that are no longer repaired should be traded in and the customer should get a chance to buy a replacement at 50% of street value. Keep up the great work Novak, just show some love to your customers. |

So what you are saying is I should be able to go down to the local chevy dealer and trade in my 67 pickup that is worn out and needs servicing, and as they no longer service that old of a rig, I should then expect them to offer me 50% off of a new truck? Hmmmm..... EDIT: 4u2nv beat me to it,LOL. |

The main feature of SAT is giving Hobby Dealers, who cannot maintain their own on-line store, an opportunity to participate in online sales.

In the example discussed here, a user can return an obsolete Super Rooster and exchange it for a Super Duty HV for $79.00---new it is $130.00. A savings of $50.00 off the new price. I sure can't return any of my obsolete electronic items and expect such a generous exchange. Try this at Circuit City and watch them laugh! Take a look at the replacement/exchange for the GTB: You can send yours in and select any one from five choices--the most costly is $69.00. This is well below 50% of new, which is $189-194. If you burn out your BL motor, you can replace it for $35 or exchange it for a different wind for $45. And we don't require a coupon.....;)

Sorry, our esc program only offers replacements---same for same (except for obsolete items, where we specify which esc is used for the replacement.) For the GTBs, we do offer exchanges within the various models of the GTB. That way, users who need a spread spectrum GTB or a lipo enabled version, can select one of those versions on exchange.

| If you check the replacement page linked above, we offer an exchange for 2 different versions of the old Rooster, depending upon which version you return. It would be replaced with a Rooster 12 Turn. One is $55, the other is $65.

I still a good working 410-m5 (1991) with the solder fuse using it till I get the funds for a new ESC. I have only had to replace the on/off switch. Not bad for it's age. Did not see a replacemet for it too old. :-( |

Novak has always been good to me. I remember replacing a bunch of the XXtra recievers when they got all messed up running them in my Nitro car. Even when the new GTB Spread Spectrum came out. I used it with a TO BL motor, poof out came the white smoke. Sent it back, and a week later I had a brand new replacement. Great exchange program and always returned very quickly. Even the shipping prices and 2nd day air fee was in line and reasonable. IMO...keep it up Novak!;) |

I don't know about you guys- but the simple fact that NovakTwo is even here engaged in this thread is very reassuring to me personally. I have some small issues with the Goat Firmware, but if they are willing to get beat up and still continue in an open dialog while offering options shows their dedication. At least they don't just leave us here "twisting in the wind." I just hope they get the programming figured out for my situation! |

| Exactly. I have been on many R/C boards over the last 12 years. I have only seen reps from Novak, Hitec, and Castle Creations actively participate. |
