Default Hyrax predator or G8 compound?

Hello, I am new to this and happy to learn more about this field and hobby! I enjoy getting out there.

I live in Long Beach CA, so we get all 4 seasons. I do enjoy the warmer Seasons, personally. I spend more time rock crawling but will occasionally spend some time on trails as well. I occasionally go up into elevation (9,000ft max).
My rig weighs 6.2 lbs but may go up a bit, slightly. Class 2 rig. I care for more performance based with an inclination towards rocks.

I currently have PL dual foams but will switch them out for CI nova comp cut soft in front and medium in back.

I’m told hyrax Predator compound is softest & most grippy. But I have also been told they go too soft when it’s over 75 degrees F.

Opinions please?

I have the G8 Krawlers and I love them. G8 will have longer life also.

Hyrax Predators are the softer compound and are recommended by Pro-line for wet conditions (see their tire chart on website). So, I use them exclusively on what I designate as being my "wet" crawlers. For non-wet use, the G8 rubber compound is fine for more circumstances and is quite a bit more durable.

I've found Predator Hyrax to be significantly better on wet rocks than G8 Hyrax. Everywhere else they are close in performance. Predator for the edge on traction and G8 gets the edge for longer life.
