Default Enduro Fj45

As soon as it was available, I ordered the MST FJ45. And boy, I think it was worth the wait! Nice details, great bed and roll bar.
Got to work and slapped my Enduro Kit together - which went together fine and much quicker than previous kits I built. Manual had a few confusing parts, eg link lengths, but that may have been me - LOL

In order to keep the hinged body mount I had to trim some of the material to fit it the c channels of the Enduro but that was pretty much all I had to do.

As you can see, I added some extensions to the very low shock towers in order to get a lower ride height.
On a side note: why don’t they come out with more adjustable towers anyways???

Not sure yet, how to mount the front. I’ll add a plate to the rails for a winch I guess and see how I can fab something from there.

And then? I got to figure out a color. White roof is a given I think. Gun metal is great, but looks too much like how it was advertised. Also, I got a Twin Hammers MST JP1 that is supposed to get that color

That looks great!!! Lowering it a bit really helps, the stance looks perfect.

Damn, it looks so good... (very jealous)

Nice trick with the shock towers!

Where did you order the J45C from?

Didja just go for the shell, or the whole kit & caboodle?

I'm willing to get the whole thing just for the shell...

Very very nice. Already owning 2 CFX-Ws.... I wasn't willing to pick up another whole kit just for the body. It looks fantastic though. I can't wait until I can get my hands on the body by itself without having to pay extreme shipping costs.

I went ahead and just got the body since I have enough chassis already. I got it from Asiatees and as I needed some other parts anyways it made the 24$ for (only three day!) shipping reasonable. I wanted to have that body from the moment I saw the first renderings. And honestly, there are some other expensive lexan bodies out there for pretty much the same money, but not near as exclusive and detailed right now (e.g. VS4-10, TRX4).

Appreciate your prompt response - 3 days, in the middle of what's been going on, is truly lightning-fast shipping!

I was looking at their site earlier, they seem to be one of the very few places to get the shell and I agree, $99 is not bad at all considering the level of detail.

I'm wanting to set mine up more like the guys who run them in the jungles of Borneo, been enjoying the YouTube videos from this guy: CROCKER KINABALU 4X4 TV.

So - probably getting the whole kit - gonna wait until; someone has it in stock other than RCMart - because their shipping is INSANE.

Hot Racing makes some shock towers that offer a small bit of adjustability. I also mounted the bottom of the shock to the link bracket to get mine lower.

That's some insane terrain! And they beat the crap out of their vehicles, wow!
I will probably downsize on the tires in the long run and make it more realistic like those guys. And if I hadn't the Enduro chassis and those wheels waiting here, I would have gone with the kit also

Dude, of course! I should have thought of that in the first place! Yes, good idea. Does it clear the steering link in the front?

Sadly no. To compensate for that I put green super soft springs so it has a bit more droop than the rear. Associated part number ASC42087

After many different thoughts I ended up getting some 80mm shocks for mine. I figured I’ll use the 90s on comp chassis so they won’t go to waste. I’m running the jp1 body on mine but I also have the FJ45 in a bag waiting for me to decide what to use it on. You don’t by chance have 4.19s you could throw in it so we can see how it looks c1 do you?

I'm sure I have smaller tires somewhere, I put Nittos on it for now, which are already smaller compared to the original BF Goodrichs. Not sure if I find time to do this for you before the holiday (maybe tomorrow).

I am also looking into lowering the body even more (shorter shocks front, use lower mounts in the rear) but I take mine into the mountains this weekend and see how it will do overall first.

Weathering still in the progress, but we are slowly getting there.
Next: interior, winch, lights.

Hahaha - that's a stretch but thanks :-) It does drive well
Only the second one I started weathering. And it still needs a lot of work, especially on the bed.

Looks great!
Nice to see it fits pretty well.
I have the same body on the bench. Planed it for the TK but that is not working out because of the battery placement. Enduro it will be.

IFS FJ could be pretty cool actually

Mad looking rig! Well done. Did you remove the portals and lower the body on the frame?
