| TC's - The Beginning of the Deimos
Seeing as most of the testing is done on the Deimos Chassis that will soon be released by http://www.akrcc.com/, I figured I would go ahead and throw in my testing rig and a half ass buildup. This truck and chassis has undergone many changes and pretty sure I found a great setup for it(so far). The chassis was twice as long as any of the militia had expected and it did not perform to my liking and driving style. So it was time to come back home from the event and cut the chassis in half. Once receiving the new chassis, the truck will probably see more changes again and rewired. But here is the current setup and am pretty happy with it. I must say I love the material this skidplate is made out of. It tends to be like sliding on ice and with having the center groove, it really holds the line very well. Deimos Prototype chassis Enroute axles 5319 lower links 5319 upper link(rear) and pieced together front links(will use 5319's once I clock front axle) 65t Integy w/ 12t pinions Mamba Max CC Bec DX6 F&R dig with 2 switches and 2 servos Some cheap Integy shocks Mayhem Berg comp wheels Losi Claws Losi Grappler Airtronics 359 servo 3s 1000Mah Lipo Custom made front servo/battery tray FubarCrawlers lockouts coming soon as well So hopefully the revised chassis will be out soon and into production for this chassis for the MOA guys. We have also decided to have a shafted version of this chassis as well. That way we at Team AKRCC can focus on each individual style of truck, instead of trying to accommodate both styles of truck into one chassis. So look for this chassis to be coming out very soon (some variations will be different than the pictured chassis) Here is how the truck started Then after I got cutting happy Half-ass wiring job Will get cleaned up on the final version Last edited by TwistedCreations; 12-01-2008 at 04:41 PM. |

Thanks Tom... Bullet - At this point in time, we are not looking for any more testers. Hopefully the revised chassis will fit the bill and be produced very shortly though |

Thanks Tim.. It performs much better as well. The first setup was just a long chassis with short links and I have never been very fond of that, as I prefer the smaller belly and longer links. Running this Sunday with yours, will give me a better idea of its performance |

Well the truck did very well, other than a traction issue. I took out the NWT foams as I was sick of the so called "Panther reverse" and ripping my Losi's open. So I'll have work on a tire/foam setup. But out of all the drivers, Cory (with his Cheater Truck) and myself, were the only 2 drivers to do perfect runs -10 on course 2 |

Well there really isn't much of an update as far as change goes. After receiving the revised chassis, all of the holes were at the same locations as my cut down version, so swapping chassis was a breeze. I swapped over to the new HPI Rock Grabber tires as well. I still do not have a lot of time with this new truck, but with it being as predictable as it is and as slick as the delrin belly is to allow you to just slide over anything, it seems like you have been driving it for years. One of the nice features the chassis has, is the skid is notched out on the sides for the side plates to sit on. This protects the aluminum from rock rash and doesn't allow it to dig into the rocks. But this chassis will be a top contender in the future. At our last event, 3 out of the top 5, were Deimos chassis owners |
