Default *Prototype TK Twister Berg Build*

One of my fellow club members is set to release the new TK Twister chassis set and I am lucky enough to get one of the prototypes to setup with berg axles. More information can be found here: TK-Twister chassis coming soon A build by The Real Dogman with this chassis and Axial gear can be seen here: The Real Dogman's TK Twister '08-'09 Winter Point Series Comp Rig

My equipment will include:
TK Twister Chassis
Bergs (with Axial stub shafts)
Jato shocks (yellow springs, 30w oil, #14 pistons in front and #13 pistons in the back)
1/4" aluminum links with Revo ends
Berg offset Eritex Comp Heavies
Panther Cougars
Beat Losi Grappler
DX3
35 turn V11s
Mamba Max
CC BEC
Thunder Power 2070 mAh 3s 25c lipo
hs 645mg (to be replaced with a jr 8711)
hs 81 with radio shack dig switches

So far I have rebuilt the Jatos (they are so much smoother now) and built the rear links. This chassis is setting up very well with the berg axles. The link seperation at the chassis compliments the bergs. I clocked the rear axle with link length.

Still saving up for that second axle huh

Good looking chassis, I still have never tried the short shock trend.

The only problem I have seen from those shocks is the valving is way to slow. Drill some holes in the thingymabobs and you should be golden.

Good looking chassis...I too run revo shocks 3" is all you need and maximize the linkage setup to full articulation the short shock travel will limit the articulation...works good for me, and I used the #1 piston which is the bigger hole...and 20wt. with jato soft springs

I drilled and tapped the tubes on the front axle tonight. Blue Loctite on every screw in the axle. Lucas "red and tacky" on the gears. This picture shows how much I clocked the axle.

I ordered an Airtronics 94780M tonight from CKRC. 423 oz-in of torque while still maintaining a .15 sec transit speed It should be able to throw around the Cougars...

Sam I like the way your build is going. This would have been a venture I wanted to take at a future time. You beat me to it. Chassis should be ready very soon. Great job so far

It wouldn't have been possible without you.

I shaved the stock berg hexes to work with my Eritex wheels:

Drilled and tapped the arms:

Then trimmed them:

Looks real good Sam. I still have to do that to my knuckles. If I was going to clock axles again I would do it that way too instead of drilling the cases.
