| WarTrader's V2 Rockshow Buggy
I decided to bite the bullet and finally build myself a 2.2 Comp crawler. I'm not going to bore you all with a step by step build up soo.. Tracer 2.2 Chassis W Berg V2 axles. Holmes Hobbies 35T motors Holmes BR-XL Punk RC Dig Hitec 5955 Servo Vanquish DH Procomps HB Rover EX Futaba 3PMX. While the Tracer is a great chassis it really wasn't for me. I really felt out of my element with it. Changes needed to be made. T1E Rockshow Standard Cab chassis T1E Rear lower links Gmade G-Transition shocks I know I'm going to get greif about the shocks. I had them laying around for another project for starters. I've discoverd they aren't bad shocks and not having to fight with the tires clearing the external springs is kinda nice. I have a set of losi's sitting here just in case or I might pic up some Duratrax DX9003's that jusry is still out. Right now I'm personally very happy with it. I'm learning soo much about driving MOAs fun fun and I'm hoping to get to my first GTG or comp really soon. I have a long laundry list of changes for this rig. I have a 4PK in the mail and will be changing over to two ESC's I have a Hitec HS-7980TH Mega Torque servo. I may wait for the steering to add this. Steering set up (next to get changed) Matching skins for my rig and radio Tire Foams (Nova's Ark) Sedona's I'm thinking of trying some SLW V2s I need to figure out how wide to order them and what offsets I'm going to use yet though.. Yeah I know it's ugly here but I turned it into this! Last edited by WarTrader; 08-29-2010 at 05:46 PM. |

Well my 4PK was dropped at the door by the postman! I'm now running 2 Holmes BR XL's for my esc's. They are a little big compared to the Tekin's but I've been using Castle Creations/Holmes Hobbies esc's since I got into crawlers and I've never had one spot of trouble not to mention I have a link and all to program them. I spent about an hour struggling with the manual for the 4PK trying to figure out how to set up everything. I then searched and found Harley0706's post on how to set up a 4PK ( 4PK Setups, Tips, Tricks and Help ). If your new to the 4pk and two esc mixing this will get you on track in a snap. I really appreciate the more experienced guys here like Harley doing stuff like this to help some of us unfamiluar with some aspects of crawling. Id take a few pics but I'm going to save that for now. If the wife doesn't have any plans for me I'm going to make some new body panels for a different look. Been waiting for this just trying to get things set up the way I finally wanted before I really commtted to some time on paint. |

What are you using for upper link mounts? Did you clock your front axle yet? I'm running the same chassis with the berg v2 axles also. NICE RIG!!!

I modded a pair of stock V1 upperlink mounts for my purposes. My front axle isn't clocked any more that what it came with. It seems to be perfect for me soo I doubt I will clock it any further. Thank you.

I have all the link mounts and spacers from the tracer kit. I'm going to use them for a little bit until I get a good idea for a upper link mount!

| I used two of the tracer rear upper link mounts but I just didn't like the geometry... especially on the front the back of course wasn't too bad. From my experimenting the stock v1 is the best I've found so far for the front then again I'm sure somebody with more experience that me would probably disagree and have a better selection .

If you like Castle and want smaller ESC's, go with the Mamba Micros...they rock.

Yes I had some time on my hands and the polishing kit was laying right there sooo it is now shiny bling LOL I truly thought about that I run one in my MRC I'm just afraid they won't be able to handle the AMP draw of the 35T 540 size motor using 3S lipo considering they are designed for a 380 motor in a 1/18th scale. Thanks that helped a lot. One last question are you running Berg v1 upper link mounts on front and rear?

| Currently yes but I'm looking at some other options for the rear in the future. I have alot of other things on the list before I get to that part there is a lot of tuning I can do before that.

| Quote: Well As you all can see BigRon is setting up my V2 axle with a new steering set up! He is even found a way to squeeze in my my new Hitec 7980 Servo. As a word of warning here, they are bigger than an average hitec! Well between bigrons hardwork and 600oz of steering, steering binds will be a thing of the past. Now I gotta get to work on my new body panels, and getting the BEC soldered in. Last edited by WarTrader; 06-17-2010 at 08:04 PM. | |

PS somebody needs to buy my Honcho in the sale section LOL I've also been selling all my stuff to buy more new stuff for this rig. On the list are as follows! New Rings for the DH ProComps! V4 SLW's for the rear. Nova's Ark Foams. Duratrax DTX9003 shocks. I'm thinking about a moonbuggy cab .. Makes recoveries soo much easier! Freq-E Dezigns Panels and skins with a Matching skin for the 4PK. PS somebody needs to buy my honcho in the forsale section LOL
