I'm not real worried about the wire....I figure if my sky 800Mah lipo power wires are 20G then there is really no reason to go bigger then the wire that supplies the rig with power.

thanks Farmer....when Erik first built his berg with super bully axle shafts and knuckles I was sold...it is a killer way to build these axles and you save a boat load on after market parts....and if you do have issues with the super bully shafts they are CHEAP to replace....I dont think I will have any problems though, when I ran my bully at 8lbs I never broke the V6 style shafts from RC4wd and this rig will be easily half the weight of the bully.

I'm gonna jump right in and show some pics of the micro sidewinder smash...

I started with 2 sidewinder micros...

I pulled the 16g wire off and completely stripped the esc down...it's amazing how much wire and switches weigh...

I married the two esc's with some 20g wire...

weight with a BIG piece of clear heat shrink..

Note the bottom esc RX wires feed up through the top esc's old power wire hole.

man they get thin when they get married...unlike real married life where its the opposite effect..

You should go back to your roots and use bully cases. I think it could work?

Build is going to look great!

Well I might have done that but talking dlux into bully tubes was way to much work...lol.....I had already got all my parts from him by the time you some how managed to sweet talk him into delrin bully parts...

so next was the RX and BEC smash...
I'm already running low on the RC slush fund so I'm using the old school HEAVY futaba RX R604FS that I had lying around until I can get a 614 RX

still came in pretty small...but not as small as I would like...

I just used a couple O-rings to hold the RX/BEC to the two ESC's
Note this is the RTR weight..with micro deans and all motor wires

So I started with just Two esc's weighing in at 39g's......after weight lose AND adding a RX and BEC I'm only 2g's heaver then the just esc's
I think the other 2g's would be gone if I used a 614rx....

time for some big bore lathe work....
I don't have great tooling for this lathe so I'm sure any REAL machinist on here might not like how I do this but hey it works great for what I have available to me

stock 10g's

lathed down 7g's

next was some gear work.....
since RCbros alum lockers are not available I had to follow rob_b's lead and mill my stock locker myself........only problem is I don't have a mill so I busted out the 90* angle grind and a rotatory file and then the dremel.

I stole this pic from dlux build...I swear I took a pic of my locker stock but I cant find it now....anyways I know the stock locker weighs the same on his scale and mine...we have verified our scales with each others..

stock locker 15g's

after I hacked it up....

Next was gear milling...since I dont have a mill I had to hire out Dlux's gear milling service....well worth the $$

While Dlux milled my gears I also asked if he would mill for bigger drive pins...

Stock 1.5mm pin on the right, new, bigger 3/32 pin on the left.

I also had him mill my motor mount on the case
