| Berg lipo?
Alright im building my first berg and its time to get some lipos for now ive got stock gears and dogbones. Ive got dual br-xl for esc's and wil have some decent handwounds for motors. Should i be looking to get 4s or 3s lipos? I thought most people ran 3s but im seeing alot of 4s for sale lately, and was wondering if 4s is a good idea.

With stock dogbones and 3rd gears, you'll definitely not want more than 3S batteries.

I'll second what the guy above me said. 3s max, and if you are running handwounds, anything in the 35t -45t range, you can still destroy those axles or gears. I've seen stock parts let go. In big ways... |

Another vote for 3s and good 35t's. They'll be plenty fast with a 13t pinion. Stock dog bones will be okay if you don't use your rig as a sledgehammer and also don't over throw they're usable steering angle(seems to be the most common failure of these). Stock 3rds are definitely a gamble. I ran stockers for a little more then a full season with good luck before I lost one. Then I lost one at two comps in a row. |
