That's impossible for anyone to say. There are way to many variables and you couldn't have supplied much less information.

Maybe some of the other guys will be able to pull a number out of a hat but I really don't think it will be worth much. Just think about the variables involved. Chassis, shocks, oil, pistons, springs, shock geometry, link geometry, link bias, wheels, hubs, electronics and their placement, foams, tires, terrain, driving style, temperature, preference...

There is a reason knuckle weights are adjustable.

Simply put: enough weight to make the front heavier than the rear. This can be anywhere from 2-5oz per side. It really depends on your setup as already stated.

Youre going to get opinions all over the place on this, as said above....

I personally prefer as much as possible below the axle center line. As of late, I am tempted to even max out my entire knuckle above and below.

Are you not satisfied with below axel weight ?
Maxing out with your ultra light weights builds?

Thanks.

Or 8oz.

Now this gentleman is after my heart.

I like one pound combined, way below the front axle...with forward bias.

I am very satisfied with below the axle weight, I just want more and I am out of room below, so I am considering going above.

Another way to put it would be that I am after your advice, which I cannot thank you enough for....

I have fun crawled with Mr. Gates more than once. Never felt like I had a chance at keeping up with the guy. What is his secret? He let me in on it and told me that it was more weight in the front. I tried it and have never looked back. Probably some of the best advice I have ever received was from this guy.

Also, I forgot to add,...

I run as much weight as possible for my terrain which is long, steep climbs. If I were to run rip rap, boulders or something of the sort, I would pull all that weight back off as I feel a lighter car works better in those situations.

Eric kept telling me how great the weight was. And after a comp where I suffered a lot due to lack of front weight I started running 6oz per side. Amazing! So I'm 4lb even with 12oz of knuckle weight.

So around a 1/4 of your rigs weight should be knuckle weight? That's probably a good starting point anyway.

I run my rig without knuckle weights and have the weight only slightly towards front. Suits the terrain we have very well.

I run about 4 oz per side. The truck is night and day different with and without the weight. Best thing for you to do is find a practice rock, try to climb it without weight and add weight until it feels like your making progress. I'm now at 4.3/4.4 lbs with that knuckle weight and the truck is super predictable. Erik once recommended a bit of balance and maybe adding an ounce to the rear. I tried for about a week and didn't care for it as much. For what it's worth, it's the only dlux part I've ever taken off my rig ;). The guys in my club ( some of them ) think 8 oz is crazy amounts of weight. It works for me.

This is the key really in any situation. The rock you crawl on is just as important, and knowing when to load a knuckle vs not is key to success on comp day.

We here in Oregon have every rock one can think off. From slick rock, to rip rap to lava rock. My knuckle weights come on and off constantly.

high traction, load that knuckle son!!
Low traction, depends on the scenario but I usually just go with a mild forward bias
rip rap, light and nimble like a cat drinking milk from a saucer

I also have taken or removed weight for one course to the next depending on the obstacles set. This is why I encourage those to not limit themselves on the weight they have available and to play with adding and removing weight to there benefit.

How the weight is added in relation to the furthest out on the axle and below the axle center-line is also crucial to how much weight one needs and how it can or will benefit the truck in any given scenario should be taken into account.
