traxxas vxl system
or
mamba max pro and 4000kv or more+ motor

both can handle 2s and 3s
the mamba max pro can handle up to a 6s lipo and has a built in fan.

ive used both on my foff rigs with good results.

some here have had problems with the velinieon motor getting sand in it. apparently although it's waterproof, sand will still get in as the motor is designed to allow water in.

i run an ezrun 5.5 turn (6000kv) and 60 amp and have had no problems. i got mud in the motor once and cleaned it out. still runs fine after 18 months.

yes,the lil black end cap on the vxl can be removed as it will fill with sand.

i got a lap full when tore killa down...lol

after that i ran it without the cover.

also should mention if running the vxl, running 32p gears would help in getting more wheelspeed.

Hobbywing EZRun WP-SC8 ESC and any of the EZRun 3556 series motors would be good, provided you don't mind using 5mm pinions. The motors come in 3400, 4000 and 4700kv, so pick based on your voltage and speed requirements.

I've tried the Xerun 3400kv motor and I like it a lot, but you are not going to need a sensor for FOFF.
And avoid the 3500kv EZRun 3655 series motor as it is a 2 pole rotor.

If you do run the VXL system, you need the fan and watch your gearing, you will be ok if you stick with spurs in the 80 + count, but if you drop down to the popular 50/20 combos(32P) it runs hot

Castle MMP is a great choice
