Hobbyking xcar sensored esc 60 amp runs on 3s 8.5 turn motor. I runn mine with a 13t pinion 56t spur and it's cold plus it's only 80 bucks shipped from usa warehouse only downside would be its only adjustable to 30% drag brake

In a foff wraith, 1/8 scale electros is the way to go. I use rx8 esc with tekin, turnigy or hobbywing motors. There's some great options that have enough power to break whatever parts you choose. Stay around 1900-2200kv, gear to your liking and watch it fly. Then when your balls drop, you can run 4-6s j/k bud. 3s will be lots of fun, enjoy! |

I've been happy with an sv3/3800 4 pole, sv3/5700 4 pole and now a 150 amp trackstar esc/4250kv 4 pole sensored motor in my exo and other rigs. The rx8/3300 pro4 setup is awesome but unless geared to the moon it won't have Foff type wheel speed. They are all ran on 3s with great results. The sv3 combo's got hot and shut down when ran in my exo due to the weight, paddles and judicious use of the throttle. In the mega truck and foff they never get hot. |

Are those hobbywing set ups fast and powerful? Compared to a tekin? Im sure tekin has all these nice features but power and speed wise??

I can't speak for hobbywing but so far I like my trackstar setup for smoothness vs the rx8. Even with a hot 4250 the exo with it's super tall gearing will go slow very smoothly.

i run a track star 150 sensoreless with a 2200 kv turnigy motor. gobs of power i use voltage to adjust gearing. 2-6s pick your poision. and is damn smooth for senorless. also runs cool. combo is about 100 bucks. maybe 105 its on wraith platform. the 150 track star is sensored. ive been thinking abut upgraded but i cant till this damn track star pukes and see justkeeps on ticking. on season 2 with it with not problems. i love the adjustable drag brake since i also crawl. after landing a big jump does take some modding to put a 1/8 scale 2200kv motor but in my opion is very worth it considering how versitale is is |

i havent got a direct comparison but my wraith runs a tekin sc4x in 4000kv with a MMP on 3s and id say the EZrun is definetely faster. gearing and weight are a factor though.

4000kv works but not near as much power and runs pretty warm no matter what gears

Yes that is basically what I run but with a cheap price tag and turnigy brand stamped on it. 2200 kV unsensored even runs smooth enough to crawl along side tekin sensored stuff not quite as smooth but has enough power on tap to peal the tires off the wheels and wheely and jump obsticales |

I'll get a link. The 150 track star is now sensored I have had no problems ordering from over seas from HK. Just know it take 3-4 wheeks with 10-15 dollar shipping. This ESC compares directly to the tekin rx8 at half the cost even with shipping http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...grammable.html. Youl most likely need to do some modding to fit this between the frame rails and skid plate. This will spank the tekin pro4s http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=42668 These motors are the same size as mine pictured above http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=41296 Last edited by evan03; 05-21-2014 at 08:42 PM. |

Does yours cog at low speeds? And is it fast? Is this for a 1/8th scale? I was just looking at the tekin T8 combos and they look beast! But the prices tags nice too lol

I am very happy with my 150A trackstar gen II esc. I have a first gen RX8 too and I like it but I think the trackstar is a bit smoother. Comparing a pro 4 to an 1/8 scale motor is silly. If you want to have a direct comparison try putting one of those turnigy motors up against a T8 tekin motor so you are making a reasonable comparison. I like my turnigy motor and I like my pro4, if I hadn't have gotten a killer deal on the pro4 I'd have bought another turnigy for sure.

Dollars to power it is fair to compare to pro4s Dollars to power it does compare very well to t8s. Does it have to be 3s. That voltage straps you down to higher kV less efficient motors. Does not cog Same motor on 3s with 2100kv. Its the white rig. The monster wraith a a brushed tekin motor. Last edited by evan03; 05-22-2014 at 05:30 AM. |

I have been happy with my turnigy motor and I'll be picking up a few more in various sizes and kv for different uses but I doubt I'll go around preaching that people need to stop buying name brand stuff because the hong kong stuff is better. I have reasonable expectations, not crazy dreams.
