Default R1 Custum panels.

Here are some panels I knocked up yesterday for my R1. I am a fan of Tokidoki so I thought why not.

More to come later.

how cool....how did you do them? printed on plastic?

I'm interested in doing some more custom panels for mine and do far my plan is to print laser to size on normal paper and place between two clear plastic sheets and screw all in place....can figure an easier option so far since i cant print on plastic.

Thats really cool. Curious to hear how it was done too. I'm thinking on free handing some artwork onto mine then backing it with paint.

that's how i did mine but its time consuming....drew it up with a permanent marker on the stock panels from inside and gradually painted over letting it dry with each layer so not to smudge the permanent marker ink.

.....doing it on a pc and printing it out would be easier

I have a few more pictures to put up over the week end of my reversible set. I will divulge my secret after that, I can say though that they are not printed on . Shame I am not in the US cause I could probably sell them.

Ok, Colour Printer, laminator and a sharp art knife. Oh and a belt hole punch for doing the mounting holes.

That is the crux of it. there are a few steps involved to get them absolutely right. But in the end its bloody easy.
Pop the body panels out of the sheet then use the remaining sheet as you template to get the right size panel. If you use the panels as the template they come out too bug.

I CNC'ed some aluminium panels that should take some beating. Sorry for the phone pics. I'm trying to think of something creative to digitally print onto my acrylic ones.

I was going to make aluminum skins, but if you have the pattern....would you be willing to sell a set?

It's too much hassle to post overseas sorry, but the DXF is available on another forum if you google "Gmade R1 DXF".

Neil: it should not be that hard really and would only cost about five bucks cause it would fit into an envelope. BTW where abouts in Aus are you.

I'll have to check it out next time I'm at the post office, I just don't end up with a lot of spare time during the week.

I'm in Toowoomba, Qld.

Those alumininium plates looks great.
I'd buy them from you.
Actually I ship to Australia several times a week and shipping would be like $5-9.00 for me to mail a package of plates to OZ from the USA. I would think it would be similar to mail things from OZ to the USA.
