Default R1 battery placement

For those not running the battery on the axle, where does it mount? Ill probably use 1600mah 2s packs around 100mm x 30mm x 15mm i dont want to run it on the axle, will a pack that size tuck into the chassis easily?

I put my lipos just behind the driver/rear part of the cage.... One under the tray and another above it.
Your battery should fit fine, it may stick out the back but it depends on how far you shove it in.....

Yes, I have mounted mine behind the tranny on the supplied battery tray. I have also mounted mine under the hood on a custom made tray.

I found the 3s 1300s to be a perfect size for tucking them away. No overhang.

Good luck.

I use the battery tray that came with it, i use these batteries they are pretty small and i get about 45-60 min run time which is plenty and they are as cheap as chips so you can buy a few, i also have mounted them over the front axle, also if your creative with your esc/receiver locations it can give you more options.

Under the hood on a custom tray is the best way to go in my opinion
