I reworked the front shocks a bit and am working on the hood and roof today. If I get the 2mm bolts in this week it will get its first drive this weekend!!

Nice work dude! Especially like the widen chassis. Now that you have space, should look into getting an ae-2 tranny in there. Low speed for crawls... High speed for racing.

That widened chassis is a good resolution to those who have had difficulty fitting larger motors and transmissions inside. I can't believe no one thought of that until now, good looking rig man can't wait to see some vids.

The only reason for the chassis to be wide is to fit the battery on the belly plate. I had to turn the trans up to get it this narrow and I could have bought smaller packs and did some things different but getting the battery in and out of this thing is gonna be a bit of work I think so its built to fit the 5000MAH venom battery. The receiver is going to mount under the hood and the ESC will mount behind the spur on the back side. The TH trans has a 4.05 1st gear and a 2.27 2nd gear. Its a little bit smaller then the ae-2 trans which helps to fit it in the chassis. With the way the TH is going there should be steel gears soon for it. But as it is right now the ae-2 trans is stronger. I'm not sure on the ae-2 ratios. |

did some mph calculations. I'm sure they arent exact but it gives me an idea of what to expect verses the venom creeper with a 2800kv motor I have been running. Here are the speeds Venom Creeper overall gear ratio from motor to tires with 15 tooth pinion and a 45 tooth spur 49.5 to 1 2800kv 2S = 6mph 3S = 9mph 3800kv 2S = 8mph 3S = 12mph Gmade Bouncer overall gear ratio from motor to tires with 19 tooth pinion and a 78 tooth spur ( can’t go lower then the 19t pinion) 1st gear 48.5 to 1 2nd gear 27.2 to 1 2800kv motor installed 1st gear 2S = 7mph 3S = 11mph 2nd gear 2S = 13mph 3S = 19mph 3800kv 1st gear 2S = 10mph 3S = 15mph 2nd gear 2S = 17mph 3S = 26mph So with those numbers its not going to be a technical creepy crawler, its not supposed to be but I am tempted to put the little 2800 in it. I will of course run the 3800 just to see how it runs. Yes I'll get videos up of the 3800 first. |

I got to run it a bit. It's fast. Too fast in first on 3s. In second it's ridiculous. Seriously ridiculous. Going to try the 2s tomorrow and if it don't slow down a lot this 3800kv motor is out and the 2800 is in. As it is now I see no usable use for second gear.

Lol, R1 drag car! You should run it against some of the nitro touring cars and blow them away.

cytogen I didn't really notice much if any. Ill be able tell for sure this weekend. Hopefully I can get a video up showing the speeds with the 3800 tomorrow evening. I can't run rear steer at all in second gear on grass that's for sure as I have already cartwheeled it! It's built to do some FOFF stuff so sand paws will be on order soon but I still think its too fast. Maybe a bigger spur gear would help. Idk how big I can go and keep the cover on it. Ill find out though. Derb I guarantee you a set of street slicks along with dropping the suspension down would be a LOT of fun! |

Here's a video with the 3800kv Castle motor. I put in a Tazer 2800kv motor now. I'll post a video of that too but it's the same, just a bit slower and much less cogging. Gmade R1 Bouncer Brushless Lipo - YouTube |

I really like it with the 2800kv motor. With the 2S it can almost crawl in 1st, it will break all 4 loose in 2nd easily. With the 3S its all fun and 2nd is still crazy fast but in 1st, its usable. This video is with the 3S in 1st gear. I was doing some testing with it. Gmade Bouncer 3s Lipo Brushless - YouTube I still gotta clean up my wiring and its supposed to be a rainy weekend so I wont be able to take it out. Bummer. weather conditions were kinda bad today so no video. I gotta say, the thing can take a beating. I lost count of flips and cartwheels. Its a blast to drive with any battery in any gear, however in 3S 2nd this thing jumped about 8ft high or so, landed on its side and.............it survived!!! The issues I did have were: lost a inner c bolt that holds on the knuckle, driveshaft came loose, and the on/off switch for the esc needs to be mounted somewhere. I have also ordered some Sand Paw tires for some FOFF action. Oh yeah this thing is more of a badass then I thought it would be! |

I've lost a couple of those step screws that hold the knuckles in, but I'm too lazy to locktite them in place lol. I'm surprised it's standing up to what you're throwing at it, so many people seem to destroy these rigs when using brushless 3s setups.

The 3S has broken a bunch of my stuff. But on this bouncer so far it has really taken it well. The issue is my electronics are good for 4S (6S actually) and a buddy has a 4S battery. 3S 2nd gear is about 20mph and a solid axled rig like this is a handful and usually ends up in a spectacular cartwheel! LOL Maybe run his 4S with the Sand Paws on a sand hill? If I get some good weather and it drys out a bit I'll shoot some video next weekend. The areas I go to were under about 6ft of water it has rained so much! I didn't build a boat.... |
