Default Aluminum for the Sawback

The mail man brought my package from Gmade today. Hoping the steering improves with the cvd's. I'll get it on tomorrow and report back.

Here's a clearer photo

OK so I couldn't wait. I had to see if the money I spent was worth it. Easy install just as before except it's shinny. I'm glad to report that I did gain a little steering. I don't know if it is 10 degrees as Gmade advertises but it has improved. Turning the steering wheel to full lock now causes my tire to make contact with the leaf spring, It didn't do that before so I had to back down on the EPA's just a little. I'm running the PL TSL SX tires.

Something to note, the stock axle had already started to show damage where the dog bone fits into it. 1ST photo.

Here are the part numbers if anyone is interested.
FRONT DRIVE CVA KIT GM52109S
ALUMINUM C HUB CARRIER GM52120S
ALUMINUM ONE PIECE KNUCKLE GM51105S

Cool!
Gmade claims 10 degrees more, can't wait to see the results!

Hmm with flipping the stock c hubs for more castor and mounting the steering linkage above the leafs with all stock partz i had to adjust my endpoints to stop the tires from hitting my leafs. I have no binding at full lock. Thats nice stuff you got there. I have the c hubs on order and went with the tamiya df03 high steer knuckles. Id like to see an overdrive gearset for the sawback!

I had just the opposite reaction. When I moved the tie rod above the leafs and flipped the servo arm I seemed to have lost steering so I put it back stock. But even when the truck was stock my tires didn't hit the springs. I've changed tires five different times, I know the others weren't as big as the ones I'm running now. However, before the cva's, my PL TSL SX did not hit the springs and did until I backed off on the endpoints.

I agree with you on the OD.

Very nice bud, does the aluminum quality look good? Just noticed you trimmed the bumper, looks good! Tried to get a better approach angle? That's why I like my bumper mounted upside down

Ya i noticed your upside down bumper! I cut the ends so if i cant go straight nose up at least i can go at an angle and hook a tire. Works well

I love the alloy parts - Always better than the plastic! - but my steering seems pretty good as is. In fact, I was commenting on it yesterday because the thing has a nice, tight turning radius compared to my Axials. I'm sure I did not do anything innovative other than mounting the servo on the frame with the stock mount and adding spacers to raise the links up over the springs. Huh.

Maybe I don't have it as good as I thought.
