Default hilux sawback

I am currently paint up the body for my Sawback. I can't believe that no one has done this yet. I wouldve thought the sawback would have developed a better reputation by now as it seems to be a pretty stout rig

So you're putting a Hilux body on your Sawback, I look forward to seeing that. I haven't changed mine out because the Willy's is unique. Lots of other Jeeps out there but not from this era.

The only reason you don't see much about the sawback....

Is because its epic out of the box! No need to play the upgrade game with this rig

I couldn't agree more! I have modified mine but at the same time I enjoy my Sawback very much without any desire to change anything major - wheels, tires, gearing, body....I love it!

I know this is an old post but how did you side body mount the Hilux body to the chassis? I have been scratching my head on this one.

I would suggest to make rear bolted to the flip-plate. For the side mount, fabricate metal sliders from 90deg steel "corner", drill holes to the side holes of the body and make them threaded.
Just like so:

Nice body mount solutions, I did similar on my final Honcho body mount setup by hinging it at the rear and using front hood mounted body posts. Little Nikita looks great crawling in the snow with TF2 body!
