| Here's the latest... I had originally planned on an aluminum skid, but I decided to cut up some of the original plastic to use instead. I think it looks a bit more realistic (except for the white mess left by the CA). I also need to tidy up the wiring, I was just making sure that it would work. I removed the front hi/low switch and removed the stock steering motor, and I'm replacing with a Hitec wing servo this weekend. The servo has lots of torque for its size (shown in pic). Now just tidy up the wiring, install servo and linkage, attach the body, and call it done....for now. |

| Here's the finished pics. It now has the high steering, digital wing servo, cut KJ body and snorkel. I made the snorkel by heating and bending a black plastic coat hanger, and CA'd a piece of aluminum stock to the top (for a cap) and painted it black. EeePee, is this a good-enough change of scenery for you? -WRM EDIT: I'm also looking for an extra tire/wheel for a spare if anyone has one (or wants to trade something for it...) |

nice. this is my favorite one yet. I would build one too but unfortunately ORCRC only has a stock class. And i dont have $40 to spend on a truck just for fun. How is it doing staying tires down with the battery higher? |

| Thanks for the replies. The snorkel was pretty easy to make with the plastic coat hanger. The trick is to use a propane torch with as little heat as possible. Hold the flame far away, the just "brush" the flame over the plastic. Make sure you heat all the way around, or the plastic will kink in half, and that's not good... The batt. is only a tad bit higher, but no problems yet. I took it out today, and it did extrememly well. I think the major factor was how the tread was cut. -WRM |
