yeah i don't think i will be able to do the generator idea, i'm running low on cash and i still need a remote and receiver and then the panel. i'm thinking about making a kind of dual switch powered by a micro servo, one that turns off the power to most of the car and at the same time turning the solar panel on so it will charge the battery. we'll see how it works, it might totally fail lol which would be slightly disappointing but either way i'm sure i will get an A on my senior project just for the steps taken, then in the end i will still have a sweet 6x6

what would be a good transmission to use for this? theres a lot of mass on it and the ol' stampede tranny has exceded its useful life. i need a new one that is smaller and lighter, any suggestions?

Mine appears to be pretty well spot on 3 inches, but that is with the larger DNA motor plate. Kieren |

I think they can be a bit easy to break if you push them. They will also be a lot heavier than the ax10 tranny. Kieren |

Let me get this straight. You say we have a battery that runs a motor, then the motor turns a generator which then charges the battery. As you of all people should know, it takes more mechanical energy to turn the generator than what the generator outputs in electricity. This gives the system a negative net energy gain. Unless you are talking about the motor turning into a generator to harness kinetic motion in the form of a regenerative braking system, I can agree with you there. | |
