Here is my little SANCTUARY. I work on everything from my RC's, to bikes, to motorcycles and dirtbikes out here. The first pic is my overall workbench area. Well equipped with a vice, bench grinder, air compressor and drill press. (Going to be adding a small combo brake bender an sheer soon!) The next pic is my soldering and charging station. The last pic is a light with a built in magnifying glass. I picked this up at Wal Mart for like $20 and it has proven invaluable when working on small parts with a need to be hands free!

Loving the car storage system on the wall. I may have to take some maps / posters down and go that route!

Well, guess I will show you my home away from home. Being retired, working Codyboy Design, my RC addiction, Custom woodburning and full wood shop I probably spend 5-6 hours a day out here! It is a little messier than some of yours. I find that at 68 if I clean up to much I forget where I put things.

My electrical soldering station, charging station and work bench.

My storage area and my little garage.

My metal lathe, jointer, and planer.

My fabricating table for metal and wood, and torch/soldering station. In the background is my drill presses and wood lathe.

My table saw/ router table, and band saw.

My woodburning station with a couple pieces I'm working on.

I use a lot of my woodworking tools in fabrication of my builds, and building my own foams.

So in essence, a three bay garage/ shop! I planned and built and stocked this through the five years before I retired, and spent the next 7 years filling it to the brim!

Ernie

Give him a minute, old guys can motor pretty well, they just take longer to get up some steam!

(if I post a pic it'll be an example of what NOT to do - it's my whole living room)

Not that anyone asked for it - here's what ya get with no feminine oversight, no garage, no spare room (and only 2 R/C's! OK, sorta 3):

I have a fully equipped automotive shop at my disposal as I am a mechanic by trade. But for at home I picked an unfinished room in my basement to set up my man cave. Behind this picture I'm building a full gym in the basement as well. This room is fully equipped with enough tools to fix most things.

Did some cleaning up and reorganizing while the weather is decent enough to come into the basement for more than a few minutes.

Hmmm... yeah i was thinking of the stuff the navy uses on electrical benches, "anti-static matting" essentially just really thick rolls of vinyl. Just not sure where i can buy the stuff for myself.

What about rolling some bedliner on there? Lol i might try it?
Fumes though. I would catch hell from mrs shinchu as our laundry is done in the garage

Oh and here is the latest on my progress... and i really need a new camera lol

I had a crowded little storage area in a corner of my garage that I decided to dedicate as an RC hobby work space. It's a good exercise to clean some crap out every 10 years or so (don't want to get carried away). Cleared the space, built the bench, parked some RC stuff.
I'll spare you the "before" picture.
RC is not my only hobby.

@ smog, GA Dawg, and Rock Dodger:

These are the kinds of rooms that fascinated me as a kid... treasure troves of tools, projects, and... stuff! They all just look so comfortable and inviting. Anyway... I guess that even as I sit here firmly footed in adulthood, it's pretty cool to occasionally still see places that instantaneously remind me of my youth. Thanks for sharing.
