Another vote for building a course out of foam blocks and then covering with a hard plaster material. I built a course Christmas morning from one of my Mom's presents that had two large 3'x3'x1' blocks of styrofoam in it. Used the MAPP gas torch to shape it, but havent covered it in any plaster so every run with the 1/18 it leaves pieces of styrofoam everywhere. Which sucks.

But I dont think its so much a problem of bringing rocks into the house for me atleast, had a pile in my dorm room...but when you shape your own you can model them to real obstacles (if you are into 1:1 wheeling). My favorite obstacles that we play on, or I would like to try one day when I can afford to travel that far are easily done if you make them scale size to your rig.
