Smile Warning for all crawlers..

Hello there fellow crawlers,

Im sure all of you already know this, but im going to list it here anyway.
DO NOT force your crawlers into a tight turn especially if one of the tyres are caught between two rocks. I have a crawler and I forced it to turn when its front right tyre was caught between two rocks. The wheel knuckles bent (plastic ones) and now I have to replace them. Just a reminder

1 part high turn motor, 1 part ultra torque servo & you can move mountains... or plastic.... or metal, whichever is easiest to move.

I wish there was a little warning light that went off whenever I do this because as much as I know not to...

Lol...or having extenders like 15mm offset on 2.2's with plastic C's and knuckles even on a 12T Titan with not a lot of torque will equate to broken C's in no time!

Extenders add a lot of pressure to not only the knuckles and hubs but also to the axle casing itself. Aluminum all the way!

BAH!!! Getting your tire stuck just identified a weak spot in your crawler... If you fix it with the same parts you will know where your weak spot is for next time... If you upgrade your parts you'll get to discover a whole new weak spot.

Everybody has done that at least once. To carry on what Greatscott said, your chain is only as strong as your weakest link.

...that's not the only way to bust a knuckle, its been said: "you have to learn to drive before you learn to crawl".

Where'd you get "titanium tranny gears"?

You got that right. I can't count how many times I've upgraded a particular part because the stock part continues to fail only to find that I now have a new cronic failure point.

Best to just leave them on the shelf...

A hitec 7980 at 9 volts fixes most issues. I suggest at least one on a 2.2 and a 4 on a super. You will not have to worry about things not moving.

Don't even imagine this happening...

Or even this

Flopped around in there for a while.

Thank you Axlemasters.

Once you upgrade everything, pick something you like to replace, and make it your weak point.

very good advice, last weekend kcrc summer comp watts mill kcmo i was 1 gate away from a clean run course 3,got stuck in a crease, tried to force it out and broke plastic knuckle, after zip tie repair i finished the course w/1 point instead of minus 12,had to use that reverse anyway after "repair"because of loss of steering, and zip ties came off on bonus attempt ending a chance of minus 10 off my score, wish i'd use reverse in the crease to start with
