| MOA scaler?
Anyone built a MOA scaler? Just wondering how feasible this would be. Thinking about building a custom "ultimate trail rig". I know it won't be "scale" per say but it is interesting to me.

If it's MOA I guess it wouldn't be a "scaler" but if it's interesting to you then I say build it. |

It won't be comp-able (but it won't long before someone builds a 1:1 MOA KOH...then maybe they'll change the rules for class 3 rigs) There's already a hunting buggy that's MOA (both axles)Bad Boy Buggy Models |

No such thing as an MOA scaler lol. But for the sake of pure fun... why the hell not? I was thinking of doing the same thing a couple years back. Wanted to have something I could go on a rocky hike with, and never have to pick it up. But I wanted to be real looking, waterproof, and capable.

I was thinking a tube frame MOA/scaler Hybrid. Or maybe a MOA with a scx10 frame, but I don't know if the frame is wide enough to clear the tranny/motor bulge.

MOA and Scaler is kind of a contradiction in terms. Seems like it would defeat the purpose, but hey, knock yourself out. | |

Not trying to comp it or anything, and I stated in my first post that I knew It wasn't "scale". Just a fun build idea I thought, but apparently my idea is blasphemy, lol. I'm just trying to get constructive input. That topkick is what I had in mind, but MUCH lower and either a tube frame or frame rail type setup, just a go anywhere beast. |

Here's mine. Not claiming it to be a "scale rig" but it looks pretty damn nice I think. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/redca...on-redcat.html |

I just recently did one with some RS10 axles, like you said it's just for fun and I happened to have all the parts lying around to put it together and think it turned out pretty good! It actually surprised me how capable it is, I say give it a shot |

The whole nature of this hobby is to create or at least attempt to create whatever you think of! I say give it a shot and definitely post some pics. Hiding the motors will be tricky if you want it to have a scaler look... |

i built one out of my bully and it sucked ass . the motors got hung up on everything. you would think with the extra motor it would have more power , not so, i had it at a scale comp and it perfomed terrible. shafty is the way to go i was really suprised how shitty it did. it could barely pull the sled, and once it got into the woods thats when the real problems began, my scx made the bully look like a toy |

I think what u mean is a MOA that looks like a 1:1 scale vehicle except for the axle setup? I like the idea of trying something unique . I just ordered a Mad Beast Semi body for my Berg Crawler Build just cuz I have not seen any other "Semi Crawlers" yep its all about having fun with your build. do what you want |

Build what you want, call it what you want, and let the naysayers kiss it where the sun don't shine. I see this all the time, people telling others what their rigs are or aren't when in reality, it doesn't much matter. This wouldn't be my cup of tea, but then again, your drinking it, not me. |

Look in the cliff climber forum, you'll see a guy that used it to build a pretty good looking Halo Warthog. I plan to use my moa axles that are lying around to make my old Tamiya Wild Willy a runner again, it won't be scale, but I think it will look cool and be more fun to drive than the original GO FOR IT!! |
